Founded in Washington, D.C. in 1922, Heffron is a mechanical contracting firm with deep roots in the region and a reputation that precedes every introduction. We do not market ourselves through bold claims or industry buzzwords. Our credibility comes from the institutions that call us back, the general contractors who request us by name, and the facilities professionals who count on us when the work cannot fail.

Heffron is a mechanical-first firm. We specialize in the work that requires precision, discipline, and experience in environments where failure has real consequences—active hospitals, life sciences facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and mission-critical institutional buildings throughout the DMV — Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

We are big enough to deliver on complex, large-scale projects, and small enough that senior leadership remains personally engaged on every one. That is not a marketing line. It is how we have operated since Joseph Heffron started this company after returning from World War I, and it is how we intend to operate for the next hundred years.
