Project Overview
Heffron has supported NASA facilities with mechanical work on systems that research operations depend on every day. The scope has centered on compressed air systems, wet taps into live piping, and chiller installation — three types of work that share one requirement: the facility cannot go down while they happen.
Compressed air feeds laboratory and test equipment, so lines were installed, extended, and tied in with the cleanliness and pressure integrity those end uses demand. Wet taps let Heffron connect new branches into existing chilled and process water mains under pressure, avoiding the system drain-downs and multi-day shutdowns a conventional tie-in would have forced on an active federal campus. Chiller installation covered rigging, piping, and startup of new cooling capacity, sequenced around occupied buildings and continuing operations.
It is the kind of work that rarely makes headlines and always matters: careful planning, disciplined field execution, and federal-standard documentation on a campus where a mechanical interruption is never a small problem.
