Project Overview

Heffron provided the mechanical scope for a humidity control system at a large automated frozen storage and distribution facility. Loading operations at facilities like this pull warm, humid outside air into a sub-zero environment, where it turns into snow, ice, frost, and fog that create slip hazards, falling ice, sensor faults, and product quality risk.

Heffron installed a desiccant-based dehumidification system with the associated ductwork, supports, and air distribution equipment, plus air curtains at the loading and freezer openings rated for continuous sub-zero service. The work included all supporting steel, hangers and blocking, coordination of roof and wall penetrations with the other trades, and the control and power wiring for the system.

Heffron coordinated the installation with the general contractor and carried the system through testing and commissioning to verified performance.
