This was Genetic Therapy’s new 80,000 sq ft research laboratory located in Gaithersburg MD. The design incorporated multiple piping systems to support the researchers’ requirements. Each lab was supplied with de-ionized water, industrial water, vacuum, natural gas, and oxygen. The air handling units were constructed with highly efficient heat wheels to recovery energy from the building exhaust. A liquid nitrogen distribution system was installed with a specialized double wall stainless steel piping system.
Developed the budget with Whiting Turner through the implementation of value engineering. Prepared cost saving ideas for the Owner during a redesign of the lab space. Lead the commissioning team through a successful system start-up.
